Dear Sir,
Acute viral hemorrhagic disease is an important public health problem. At present, Zika virus infection is the newest emerging problematic arboviral infection.[1],[2] This infection is a disease in the group of acute hemorrhagic fever. However, there are few reports on platelet count in this new disease. Here, the authors summarize the data on platelet counts in 26 26 cases with Zika virus infections [3],[4],[5] and found the average value equal to 178,115.4 ± 22,098.56/mm 3. Based on this data, the average platelet count is not low, and this can be the new concern that the cases with Zika virus infections might not show thrombocytopenia.
