Dear Sir,

Mental illness is the big public health problem around the world. The culture bounded mental health problem is interesting. The spiritual procession is an important kind of culture bounded mental health disorder. Here, the authors discuss on interesting ghost and God spiritual procession cases in Thailand and further point to the nutritional public health reflection. Indeed, the relationship has just been reported by Wiwanitkit but not in depth referencing to public health impact.[1] The topic should be repeatedly mentioned to stimulate the recognition of general public health personnel. The first problem is “phii pob” which is a kind of devil. The affected cases usually intake animal's raw viscera.[1],[2] The second case is a similar case namely “Pu Sae Ya Sae” which is the name of Rakasa (giant). The processing can be seen only in festival. The affected case also intake animal's raw viscera. The third case is namely “Nora” which is a female goddess.[2] The affected case will intake well-cooked food and coconut. It can be seen that the nutritional pattern in affected cases is different. Procession by God, the good eating, and well-cooked food can be seen. Procession by devil or giant, the opposite pattern, intake of raw food can be seen.[2] This might imply the rooted knowledge on local public health system that cooked food means good and healthy eating pattern. This can confirm the local public health wisdom on food sanitation. As noted by Teevale “the beliefs and desires” of the local community have to be focused when ones deal with nutritional public health.[3]
