Temperature that can promote Zika virus infection: A summary from Thai cases

Dear Sir,

Zika virus is a well-known viral infection in the present day. It is classified as an arboviral infection that can result in dengue-like illness.[1],[2],[3] Temperature is previously proved to be directly relating to dengue suitability.[4] It is interesting that which level of temperature that promotes suitability of Zika virus infection. Here, the authors analyze the data on the temperature at the sites where the indexed cases emerged in Thailand. The data on seven cases in Thailand is appraised. The temperature at each site is traced, and further summative analysis is done. According to this study, the average temperature is equal to 27.5 ± 0.5°C. Of interest, this is no considered a high temperature for the tropical zone. With the present global warming situation, the disease can be expected worldwide based on the fact that the temperature that can promote infection is easily seen in several countries around the world.
