Dear Sir,

Severe fever with thrombocytopenia syndrome virus (SFTSV) infection is a new tick-borne phlebovirus infection. [1] At present, the known endemic area of this infection is East Asia (China, Korea, and Japan). The infection can result in acute febrile illness with hemorrhagic complications. However, an important concern is the recent reports on asymptomatic infection. The asymptomatic infection can be due to person-to-person blood contact. [2] Of interest is the fact that a report publication in "transfusion" showed that there is a considerable high rate of asymptomatic viremia. [3] It should be noted that the seroprevalence study might be an effective tool to follow up the silent widespread of this new disease to new nearby settings.
