Dear Sir,

Zika virus infection is the new problematic mosquito-borne infectious disease. [1],[2] It is already accepted as present urgent public health situation. The disease can be seen in several tropical countries worldwide at present. The vector, mosquito, ecology is an interesting concern. [3] It is no doubt that the setting with many vectors, there is a high chance of local people to get the infection. Based on the available data, on the 7 cases of Zika virus infection in Thailand, it can be seen that 4 cases (57.1%) are identified in coastal provinces. Of interest, this might have some implication that the mosquito vector prefers to live in coastal area. Indeed, many big previous outbreaks occurred in the island areas in the pacific. The vector ecology of mosquito vector for Zika virus is the topic for futher study in tropical medicine.
