Dear Sir,
Vaccination coverage is the key point in the success of preventive immunization. The primary health-care centers usually play an important role in giving vaccines to the local people. However, the most important concern is the quality of the vaccines used in the vaccination process.
The recent article on "quality of vaccine storage and conservation in primary health care centers" [1] can provide good evidence regarding this issue. Oliveira et al. studied several primary health-care centers and found that "vaccine storage and conservation quality levels were inadequate in 59.3% and critical in 26.9% of these facilities." [1] In fact, the quality of the primary health-care center is a big issue and worth discussing in any developing country. Good-quality management is needed (not only for the vaccination program but also for other health programs). [2] Zeith et al. noted that "the supervisory system and the health information system (HIS) for improvement" are the main systems to be implemented for upgrading the standards and quality of primary health-care centers. Nevertheless, it should be noted that although the primary health-care center is closely linked to vaccination for the local community, the quality of the vaccination depends on several processes, including pre-primary health-care center steps. For the pre-primary health-care center, vaccine production and distribution (transportation and allocation) to the primary health-care center should be well-controlled.
