The Africa Health Research Organization (AHRO) formerly set out to mobilize educational, business, medical, and governmental institutions, as well as other civil society organizations, to create a network that would advocate for Africa’s health and social concerns and advance research while providing assistance elsewhere.
AHRO’s operations were therefore based on a unique system of networking that included:
- Conducting awareness campaigns to help inform the African population.
- Through its partners, helping to provide medicines to poor communities in Africa.
- Initiating or participating in scientific studies to develop better treatment, diagnosis and case management protocols.
- Promoting volunteerism in Africa.
The organization’s policy is based on a desire to maintain its independence from any government interference so that it can carry out its watchdog mission.
