Iranian physicians are often credited with helping save lives. One such physician is Eskandar Gholami Parizad. His name means “the divine” and is derived from the Persian word, “shame”. The plight of the people of Iran in World War II prompted Parizad to dedicate his life to helping them. The medical field has lost many of its leading figures in recent decades, but his contribution to medicine has been recognized worldwide.
